What’s included in the Store Starter package
Start with a new website domain or use an existing one. The Store Starter package includes the registration of a domain and the first year of registration fees for any generic top-level domain (e.g. .com, .org, .net) or Canadian (.ca) domain. Most other top-level domains can be accommodated at an additional fee.
The Store Starter package includes all design aspects of your site. For a Standard Design site, we will use any free or commercially available eCommerce theme or template. For a Custom Design site, we will create your site’s look and feel from scratch, based on your desires. While we may ask you to provide images and artwork (e.g. your logo, etc.) but we will make sure everything looks perfect.
The Store Starter package includes the setup of a payment processing service and its integration into your eCommerce site. If you already have a payment processor, chances are good that we can work with that. If not, we will walk you through the setup of a new payment processing service.
Are you selling physical products, services, or scheduled events? Do you want to sell bundled products? Do you want to offer add-ons or promote up-sells? We will design the best product configuration for your needs and setup your inventory. You will need to provide the information of the products or services you want to include in the eCommerce site. If you have a Point of Sale system or other existing tools for managing inventory, please contact us to discuss your options.
Taxes and Shipping
Your eCommerce site will be setup with the tax rates and rules that apply to your goods and your customers. For physical products, we will setup your eCommerce site so that you can easily calculate shipping costs and manage order shipments from within the store software.
Pages and Content
The Store Starter package includes three (3) website pages and your shop pages. Typically these are a homepage, an about page, and a contact page but let us know if you want something different. You provide the content for each page on your site. If you would like help with your content, we can introduce you to a professional content writer.
In addition to the pages included in the Store Starter package, your eCommerce site will also include a blog. This is a great place to share news about your business and information that will help search engines recommend your site to customers. You provide the content, and we will create and publish your first three (3) blog posts. If you feel that you do not need a blog at this time, it will be hidden from your website visitors.
Search and Analytics
Your site will Google Analytics tracking. Once ready, your website will be added to Google Search (and Bing, why not?) for search indexing. This is the most important aspect of going live as it ensures that your website is indexed and we can verify that there are no issues with how your site appears in search.
Ads and Conversion Tracking
If you plan to do any online advertising, we will set up your eCommerce site with conversion tracking for Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, etc.
We will setup email on your website domain using either Google’s G Suite for Business or Microsoft’s Office 365 Professional. The Store Starter package includes the monthly fees for the first three (3) months of service for one (1) account. Additional accounts can be added for a fee. Both G Suite and Office 365 services include access to the full suite of business productivity tools including calendars, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and more.
Hosting and Administration
Your site will be hosted with a world-class hosting service that provides daily backups, security certificates, and content caching for improved website performance. The Store Starter package includes the three (3) months of website and email administration. This includes:
- 24×7 automated website monitoring
- Testing and implementation of all website, theme, and third-party software updates to keep your website up-to-date
- Implementation of simple changes to existing website pages
- Weekly reports including website availability (uptime), search performance, and traffic summary
- Email account setup and administration
Third-party Software Licenses
In some cases we will use third-party software to create your site (i.e. website add-ons or plugins). The Store Starter package includes any reasonable third-party software license and support fees for the first year. We will let you know before we use any software with ongoing license or support costs so that you’re prepared when it’s time to renew (typically these costs recur annually).
